Robert

Jehn-Olszewski

From Nowa Iwiczna located near the capital city of Warsaw in Poland, “Jehn Ceramika” was founded by Robert Jehn-Olszewski, together with my wife Monika Jehn-Olszewska, since 1993.

Ceramics, handicraft, and most importantly pottery are their passion and work.

As members of the Association of Folk Artists, Robert & Monika are inspired by the traditional Poland folk ceramics.  Unlike most ceramic artists, Robert & Monika prepare clay and glazes with their educational background as graduates of the chemistry department of the Warsaw University of Technology.  Their art pieces range from everyday use pottery to decorative glazed birds.

Robert & Monika strive to develop and enrich the artistic values of the tradition. You will always find new inspiration from their original and unique works.

Marcin Skalski

Kuźnia Skały / Stone’s Forge is architect Marcin Skalski's craft project merging black-smithing and woodworking.  Coming form Lesser Poland's countryside, Marcin's main inspiration is traditional applied art-ordinary everyday objects such as a ferruled wooden wheel or a scythe.

In his debut project he picked up a bird, which is one of the most common motifs in folk art.  The bird figurines are very simple and synthetic in form.

Each figurine is entirely handcrafted and so there are no two exactly alike
unique. The wood is thoroughly polished up to bring to one's mind the feeling of an old
wooden handle smoothed by the years of its usage.

Katarzyna Romanowska

Katarzyna Bomanowska (aka Katie) started ceramic in 2016.  Despite the short years, Katie is talented and did high quality ceramic peices.  She fell in love with it immediately and is passionate to put her creativities into it.  Gradually, she found herself immersing in ceramic workshop for most the time, apart from her work.  Her pieces was liked by friends & family, and building a group of fans on social media network.

As an architect, Katie used her sense of art & nature in her pieces.  One of the most welcomed collection is the WAVE COLLECTION. Inspired by the ocean, forest, and earth, colors are mixed in the way no one has ever done before.  Laguna, beach, waves, or even depth of the ocean... what else can you see?

In just a few months, Katie quit architecture for ceramic and gave 120% effort to push and develop her own technique. Now after a year, Katie sold her pieces all of Europe, collaborates with showrooms, restaurants and interior designers.
